I am geting my stock of malts upto date and have a questions:
I see that there are malts that have names like carered, carahell,
caramunich etc.... I have lots of recipes that from America that ask for
Crystal 10, 20, 30 etc.. I know that these are the cara series of malts.
My question do these types of malts above have an equivilent like a Generic
name? For example do I have to use Carared/Crystal 20 or is there another
name for this type of malt. Another example could be Carahell/Crystal 10 or
caramunich 1 /crystal 30 ............
I know there are pilsen, pale ale, wheat, vienna, munich I and munich II.
These are my basic malts and I have 50kg of each.
I am aware of the link
http://hb.ikma.de/index.php?title=Malz%FCbersicht and its
content, it has helped me, however, does not answer the above question.
EDIT: Adds link above.
