As far as I know only Alabama, however, I have done no research and that is
most likely incorrect. Seems silly that the Alcohol Board Control busted
into his Homebrew shop and took ALL his stuff, every last grain of malt
because they say what he is doing is illegal in Alabama.
I know some States have a 200 gallon per year max, others have nothing.
Some states like Utah have very strict sales rules.
More interesting is the "brew in place" that is starting in the states.
People want to sell there beer but don't want to go through all the
paperwork. They rent the brewing equipment to the person that wants beer,
being onsite during the brewing. The person that is renting the equipment
then "pitches" the yeast and in effect the renter is responsible for the
beer then since he pitched the yeast.
This is very different from here in Germany because in the States you don't
need to pre register for homebrewing as far as I know, it's all the honesty
system.
