Chuck,
Thank you for your e-mail. You are correct as to which strains are similar.
Cheers!

Subject: Re: Lager yeasts
Joanne,
A question came up on one of the online homebrewers' forums and I was
wondering if you could clarify something for me. It's my opinion that the
following White Labs lager yeasts correspond to the following traditional
Bavarian lager yeast strains. Can you confirm or deny this for me?
White Labs #830 = Weihenstephan 34/70
White Labs #820 = Wissenschaftliche 206
White Labs #838 = Wissenschaftliche 308
If this is a trade secret, I'll understand your choosing not to disclose
it; however I was hoping you or someone else from White Labs can confirm or
refute my cross references above. Also, is there any chance White Labs
might at some point release a blended lager yeast?
Thanks in advance,
Chuck Schilling
