Dear Brewers,

I write this in Englisch, because my German is very bad. Ik hope you can/will read this.

I help to organize a study-weekend in Sauerland for a group of Dutch Beerjudges. And for this weekend we're looking for a person who would like to hold a reading or presentation for us about German beer or/and the german beer culture. This weekend wil take place in the first weekend of September. I hope someone can help me...

Thanks
Oscar Moerman

Dear Oscar
I just read your request and unfortunately I can't help you directly in this matter because I'm living in Switzerland and furthermore -due to my job- I'm travelling a lot around the world. I would be very glad to translate your request into the german language in order to make it accessible to whom ever it may concern but before I do so, I have one more question: should the speek be held in english or can it be held in german language. In the second case, I guess it will be much easier to find somebody who will be able to attend the proposal.

Best regards

Fred

Hello Oscar,

the only person that I can think of, that could do this maybe is Dr. Hagen Rudolph.
He has a lot of knowledge about brewing, he is giving courses as well and has also written some books about brewing.

Take a look here -> http://www.hagenrudolph.de/Kontakt/Kontakt.html

Hi, Oscar,

it`s worth trying to contact Jürgen Reuß (a member of this forum) with his nick "bielsteinbräu". He is skilled in lectures and maybe he is vacant. Check out this to send him a PM or take a look at his website to get in contact with him. He is living not too far away from the Sauerland.

Good luck!

Greets
Michael

Hi Oscar,

welcome to the "club"!
As a matter of fact,I´m not as famous as Hagen Rudolph and not as experienced as "Bielsteinbräu"
anyway I would appreciate to help you to get an overlook on german beer styles!

I am brewing beer since 25 years, and i am engaged in different programs dealing with that most
delicious material,i.e. guided tours in the "brewery museum" and different breweries, beertests, and brewing courses.
Recently I launched my new program "Bierakademie" which is exactly (I hope!) what you´re looking for.
I present 7 various beertypes e.g. Pils,Alt,Wheatbeer,Darkbeer,Trappist etc theoretically and in practise!
:puzz: :puzz: :puzz:
I am living on the southern outskirts of Dortmund (formerly known as Europe´s greatest beertown!)
which many people judge already to belong to the "northern Sauerland"
:exclam: :exclam:
Only difference: our beer is much better! :puzz: :puzz: :puzz:

Seriously,it would be a great pleasure to give you and your friends a hand (and a beer) on improving
your knowledge about german beer, which is really worth trying!!!
:partyon: :partyon:

Give me a PM to check some further details!

kind regards and enjoy your time in Sauerland (refrain from beer starting with "W"!)

Gerd
